
Two Tide Women?s Tennis Players Remain Undefeated in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii ?? The University of Alabama women's tennis team saw singles and doubles success yesterday on the second day of the Spring Invitational hosted by the University of Hawaii.
Sophomore Paulina Bigos and freshman Allison Nolen defeated their opponents to remain undefeated in the tournament. Bigos outlasted Yuliana Svistun of Kansas, 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-0, while Nolen dominated Kansas's Kate Goff, 6-3, 6-0.
Senior Andrea Brenes picked up her first singles win of the event by defeating Joyce Martinez of Sacramento State, 6-2, 6-1. With the win, Brenes moves to 7-5 in singles action.
In doubles action, freshman Meritt Emery and sophomore Bianca Svensson teamed up to defeat Kansas's Kunigunda Dorn and Svistun, 8-4. The victory marks the third win for the pair this year.
