
Tide Begins Play Today at NCAA Central Regional

The University of Alabama begins its quest for a national title this morning when it opens play at the 2007 NCAA Central Regional at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. Alabama is one of 27 teams at the regional, one of three NCAA regionals being played today through Saturday. The top 10 teams will advance to play for the national championship at the May 30-June 2 NCAA finals.
Alabama's golfers tee off from the No. 1 tee beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT today. First off the tee will be Joseph Sykora. He'll be followed at 11:39 by Mark Harrell, then at 11:49 by Matthew Swan, then at 11:58 by Gator Todd, and then Michael Thompson at 12:08. Alabama is paired in the first round with the NCAA's defending National Champions, Oklahoma State, and also Lamar. The Crimson Tide is the region's top seed. Oklahoma State is the two seed and Lamar is seeded third.
