
Alabama Men?s Tennis Up Four Spots in ITA Rankings

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The University of Alabama men's tennis team inched closer to the top 10 in this weeks Intercollegiate Tennis Association's poll released today. The Crimson Tide is up four spots to No. 12 after defeating higher-ranked Florida and South Carolina last weekend.
The No. 12 ranking is the second-highest for the team this season, falling one spot short of the No. 11 ranking on March 20. Georgia continues to lead the pack with Ohio State, Virginia, Baylor and North Carolina rounding out the top five. Mississippi, LSU and Florida represent the Southeastern Conference joining Alabama in the top 20.
Tide senior Joseph Jung remains in the rankings at No. 82, while junior Billy Mertz broke into the rankings at No. 86 for the first time this season. In doubles, Mathieu Thibaudeau and Dan Buikema moved up two spots in the rankings to No. 26.
Alabama goes on the road this weekend to face LSU and Arkansas.
