
No. 4 Alabama Gymnastics Closes Rankings Gap

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? The Alabama Gymnastics continues to close the gap between its spot at No. 4 and No. 3 Stanford while this weekend’s opponent, the UCLA Bruins jumped up to fifth after defeating second ranked Georgia last weekend.
Alabama's regional qualifying score, the basis of the national rankings, is 196.520, just .01 behind the Cardinal.
Florida remains No. 1 while the Crimson Tide’s last opponent, LSU, jumped from eighth to sixth on the strength of a strong performance in a losing effort against the Crimson Tide. Utah tumbled from fifth last week to seventh while Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oregon State round out the top-10.
Alabama remains third on the vault and floor exercise. The Tide is sixth on the uneven bars and 17th on the balance beam.
Individually junior Terin Humphrey is 19th in the all-around, fifth on the uneven bars and 24th on the vault. Freshman Morgan Dennis is ranked sixth on the vault. She is also 10th on the floor exercise while classmate Ricki Lebegern is 22nd. Freshman Kassi Price is 17th on the uneven bars.
Alabama’s meet against the Bruins, its last home meet of the regular season, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will also provide fans with more chances to win a brand new car as part of the Tuscaloosa Toyota Super Six Challenge.
