GAINESVILLE, Fla.- The No. 60 Alabama women’s tennis team fell to No. 3 Florida, 6-0, at the Ring Tennis Complex. The team saw a different match format today with the singles lineup being played first because impending rain threatened to cancel the match.
Since Florida won the match outright in singles, the doubles lineup was never played.
Alabama saw its second top five opponent in two matches today as they competed against the No. 3 Gators. The young Alabama squad could not keep up with the Gators, as Florida swept the singles lineup, giving them the win.
The Tide travels to South Carolina on Sunday to compete against the Gamecocks at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Center in Columbia. The match begins at 1:00 pm ET.
