
Michigan Downs UA In Women's Tennis, 6-1

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Michigan Wolverines won five of six singles matches and won the doubles point to take a convincing 6-1 victory over the University of Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday evening at the Varsity Tennis Center on the UM campus.
Michigan, ranked 35th in the latest collegiate team rankings, swept the three doubles matches to take an early lead. Alabama, ranked 54th in the latest rankings, could manage only a single victory in singles action, a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (2) verdict at number six by Bianca Svensson over Michigan's Tanvi Dudhela.
Alabama returns to action on Friday, March 23, as the Tide resumes Southeastern Conference action against Tennessee. The match will take place at the Alabama Tennis Complex on the UA campus beginning at 4 p.m.
