TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? The Alabama Gymnastics team is ranked fourth in the latest national rankings and remains the NCAA’s top ranked floor exercise team.
After being determined by overall average for the first month and a half of the season, the national gymnastics rankings moved to the regional qualifying score starting this week, which is determined by a mixture of home and road scores.
The regional qualifying score is determined by taking the top three road scores, adding the next three highest scores of the season, dropping the high score and averaging the remaining five.
Florida is No. 1 again this week, followed by Georgia and Stanford. Utah fills out the top-5. In addition to being ranked No. 1 on the floor exercise, the Crimson Tide is third on the vault, sixth on the uneven bars and 11th on the balance beam.
Individually, freshman Morgan Dennis is sixth in the vault and the floor exercise while junior Terin Humphrey is sixth on the uneven bars and 13th in the all-around. Freshman Kassi Price is 11th on the uneven bars. Freshman Ricki Lebegern is ranked 20th on the vault.
After two weeks on the road Alabama returns to Coleman Coliseum Friday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. against UNC. Tickets are available through the Alabama Ticket Office (205.348.2262) or online at RollTide.com.
