Gainesville, FLA ??University of Alabama freshman Haley Moody earned NCAA All-South Regional honors at the NCAA South Regional this afternoon at the University of Florida.
A young and battered Tide team took on the best in the south today and as has been the case all season long, freshman Haley Moody was the Tide's top finisher once again.
"Haley ran another really solid race for us today," cross country coach Randy Hasenbank said. "I am proud of what she has been able to accomplish so far in her young career."
Moody turned in an 18th place finish today, fourth among freshman at the NCAA South Regional, with her time of 21:24.19 over the 6k course.
The Tide's second place finisher was Farrah Stewart with a time of 24:33.63. In third for Bama was Rue Chitwood with a 24:37.31 time and fourth for the Crimson Tide today was freshman Jordan Harper (25:08.92). Freshman Kelsie Slater was unable to finish the race today.
With the injury plagued Tide only finishing four runners they did not score in the team competition.
In all likelihood the 2007 season is over for The Crimson Tide, baring a few unforeseen circumstances that would qualify Moody for the NCAA Championships as an individual.
