
Buikema/Thibaudeau Advance to Second Round of ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla.- The University of Alabama men's tennis top doubles tandem of Dan Buikema and Mathieu Thibaudeau advanced to the second round of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Fall Championships yesterday.
The Tide tandem cruised by Robert Farah and Kaes Van't Hof of Southern California, 8-4, to move on to the second round.
Buikema and Thibaudeau will face off against Harvard's Sasha Ermakov and Sahwin Kumar today at 1:00 p.m. The winner of that match secures a spot in the quarterfinals, played later today.
In singles, senior Billy Mertz fell to both of his opponents yesterday in the main draw. Mertz lost to Thomas Liversage of San Diego in the first round, 6-4, 6-4, before falling to Justin Kronauge of Ohio State, 7-5, 6-2, in the consolation draw.
The All-American Fall Championships is hosted by the University of Tulsa and matches are played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Live stats and tournament information can be found at www.itatennis.com.
