Crimson Tide Fall Championships

The University of Alabama men's tennis team welcomes 24 teams and over 100 participants from across the nation to compete in the 2007 Crimson Tide Fall Championships. The tournament runs from Friday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Oct. 28. All matches will be played at the UA Varsity Courts, the UA rec. courts and the Hank Crisp Indoor courts.

Tournament Format
The Crimson Tide Fall Championships will consist of seven draws of 16 for singles and four draws of 16 for doubles. There will be a first round consolation bracket for singles with a 10-point breaker for the third set. Doubles will be pro sets.
Schedule
Thursday, 7:00 p.m. Coaches Meeting in the team lounge of the Varsity Tennis Center
Friday, 9:00 a.m. First round singles followed by the first and second round of doubles
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. Second and third round of singles followed by third round of doubles
Sunday, 9:00 a.m. Final round of singles and doubles
Playing Sites
The participants will be spread out between the UA Varsity Courts (12 courts), the UA rec. courts (9 courts), and the newly resurfaced indoor courts (4 courts). The UA Varsity Courts and the indoor courts are Deco Turf.
The UA rec. courts are located directly across the street from the Varsity Tennis Courts.
Stringer
The University of Alabama will have a stringer on site. The cost is $15 and he is available for stringing starting Thursday as you arrive for practice.
Trainer
The University of Alabama men's tennis trainer Jenny Hogg will be on site for the duration of the tournament. The UA Varsity Tennis Center has a training room equipped with ice, heat, stem, etc.
Sports Information
The University of Alabama media relations office will be posting releases and updating brackets throughout the tournament. Draws will be updated daily at 2:00 p.m. and again at the end of each day.
Directions to Tennis Stadium
- Exit McFarland Blvd./Hwy 82 (Exit #73)
- Go West on McFarland (82)
- Go through 5-6 traffic lights (about 2 miles) on McFarland ?? you will pass University Mall on your right side, lots
of restaurants, hotels, etc. - Exit University Blvd. to the right ?? this will loop you around directly onto University Blvd.
- Stay in far right lane on University Blvd.
- Go through 2 traffic lights ?? you will see DCH Regional Hospital on your left hand side you will see Exxon gas station on
left side - Make a right turn onto 5th Ave. East (there is a traffic light there) ?? Rite Aid Drug Store is on left side ?? University
Medical Center is on corner - Go down about ?? mile ?? Recreational tennis courts are on left side ?? Varsity tennis facility is just a little farther down on
right hand side (next to the UA softball complex)
Directions to the indoor courts from the UA Varsity Courts
- Take a left onto 5th Avenue
- Turn right onto University (there is a traffic light there)
- Turn left on to Second Avenue (there is a traffic light there)
- Turn right on to Bryant Drive
- Turn left on to Coliseum Drive and head for Coleman Coliseum
- The Hank Crisp Indoor Facility is located adjacent to the Coliseum
