
Alabama Women?s Basketball Completes Week One of Practice

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? The Alabama women's basketball team completed its first official week of practice under third-year head coach Stephany Smith. The Tide has a week and a half of practice left before they dive into exhibition play.
"I have been impressed with the competition and execution in the first week of practice," coach Smith said. "In the coming weeks we look to go more in depth and hone in on the details.
Alabama opened practice with a double-day on Saturday, October 13. The Tide hit the court at 8:30 a.m. and then returned for another session at 2:00 p.m. Alabama got in seven sessions, taking its off-day on Tuesday, October 16. The Tide players took advantage of the day off by visiting seven elementary schools in the Tuscaloosa area.
The Tide will hit the floor for six more sessions next week The SEC Media Day is slated for Thursday, October 25 in Birmingham.
Alabama opens its exhibition slate on Wednesday, October 31 against West Alabama. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. from Coleman Coliseum. The regular season begins on Saturday, November 10 at against Tulane. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. from Coleman Coliseum.
