Crimson Tide Competes Well at the Chili Pepper Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -The University of Alabama Women's Cross Country team ran at the Chili Pepper Invitation in their final regular season event before the Southeastern Conference Championship in two weeks. The Tide finished in 21st place out of 45 teams.
Alabama finished behind SEC foes Arkansas, Auburn and Vanderbilt. They finished ahead of LSU.
The Tide was once again lead by freshman Haley Moody, who finished 26th out of the 322 runners that competed on the course at the University of Arkansas.
Moody has been the Alabama's top finisher in every race since she arrived at the Capstone this season. Her time today was 21:49.5 over the 6k course.
In the second position for Alabama was Ashley Ard with a time of 22:39, third for the Tide was Jen Gray at 23.27. Rounding out the Tide scorers was Meghan Hawkins and Rue Chitwood.
Alabama will take a week off before competing at the SEC Championships in two weeks at the University of Kentucky.
