
Joseph Jung Ranked in Singles and in Doubles

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released the first FILA team and individual rankings of the 2007 season on Tuesday with Joseph Jung earning a spot in both the singles and doubles rankings.
Jung, senior from Deerfield Beach, Fla., was ranked No. 43 in singles and teamed up with Saketh Myneni, a freshman from Andhra Pradesh, India, for a ranking of No. 44 in doubles. Jung completed the fall season with a 9-6 record in singles. He made it to the semifinals of the 2006 ITA Region III Indoor Tournament, defeating No. 12 Ken Skupski of LSU in the quarterfinals. He advanced to the round of 16 at the Baylor 2006 Men's HEB Intercollegiate.
Myneni and Jung posted a fall record of 3-0 in doubles competition, winning the Baylor 2006 Men's HEB Intercollegiate with three straight victories.
Alabama was also ranked in the team rankings. In the first rankings of the 2006-07 season the Tide debuted at No. 35. They ended the 2006 season with a record of 14-14. They lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament, the fifth appearance by the Tide in the last six years.
The Tide will begin the 2007 dual match season on Saturday Jan. 27 at home against Troy and Jacksonville State.
