TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ?? Alabama cross country rookie Emmanuel Bor made the most of his collegiate debut, not only winning the UTC Opener in Nashville this past Friday, but earning Southeastern Conference Athlete of the Week on the strength of that performance.
“It was obviously a strong start for Emmanuel and, with this honor, a great way to start his career,” Alabama distance coach Joe Walker said. “Now we just have to carry that over into this weekend and the Crimson Classic here at home.”
Bor led Alabama on a 1-2-3 sweep of the individual race in Nashville, which in turn led to a first place team finish. Alabama finished nearly 50 points better than second place Tennessee in the Opener.
The Crimson Classic, the Tide’s lone home meet of the season, will be held at the Harry Pritchett Cross Country Course. The women’s race starts at 5 p.m. while the men go off at 5:30 p.m.
