
Play Underway at NCAA Championship

Competition has begun at the 2006 NCAA Women's Golf Championship at the renowned Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. The course, recently redesigned with the assistance of former Ohio State star and all-time golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, will host 126 student-athletes at this week's Championship.
Lauren Smith of Augusta State was the first player to tee off at the event, doing so at 8 a.m. central time.
Alabama, competing for an NCAA Championship for just the second time in school history, will begin play at 9 p.m. The Tide will play with Nebraska and SEC rival Arkansas.
