
Tide Softball Hosts Samford

The Crimson Tide comes in off a sweep of the Kentucky Wildcats last weekend in Lexington and is currently riding an eight-game winning streak.
Alabama leads the all-time series against the Bulldogs 11-2 with the most recent victory coming last season, a 16-4, five-inning win in Tuscaloosa.
Freshman Brittany Rogers leads Alabama offensively with a .426 batting average and 46 hits. Dani Woods, who was named SEC Players of the Week this past week, paces the Tide's power numbers in the lineup. Woods has a team best of 33 RBI and six home runs.
Senior Stephanie VanBrakle, named the SEC Pitcher of the Week for her performance last weekend, leads the pitching staff with a 19-2 record and 212 strikeouts in 131.0 innings of work. Sophomore Chrissy Owens has a staff best 0.61 ERA and three saves.
