TUSCALOOSA ?? Coming off of a strong finish to the fall portion of the 2006-07 season, University of Alabama women’s golf coach Mic Potter announced the signing of the first commitment to the team in the 2006-07 school year. Courtney Harter of Clearwater, Fla., signed her national letter of intent to play for the Tide.
“We are really excited to have Courtney joining our program in the fall,” Potter said. “She is not only a fine player, but also a great fit for what we are trying to do with our program. I’m excited to have her on board.”
Harter, who competed for Palm Harbor University High School, put together some impressive numbers in her prep career. Currently ranked No. 48 among 2007 graduates by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), she is the 2006 AJGA Golf Pride Junior Classic Champion.
Harter also captured the title at the 2005 North & South Junior Championship and tied for the lowest score on the AJGA’s tour in 2005 when she recorded a 66 at the LPGA International.
The daughter of Craig and Tami Harter, she will join the Tide in the fall of 2007.
