
Julia Hicks Competes in NCAA National Championship Race

Alabama senior Julia Hicks was on the line at the women’s NCAA cross country national championship race today in Terre Haute, IN and turned in a time of 22:34.0 over the 6k race.
Hicks’ time gave her a 159th place finish out of 253 runners. The national championship race produced a tight field with just over five minutes difference from the first person across the line and the last to finish the race.
The senior from Ontario has certainly left her mark on the University of Alabama women’s cross country team. She has been the top finisher for Bama in the last 14 races, dating back to the 2004 regional, including every race during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, winning the first two races of 2006. She became the Tide’s first qualifier for the national championship race since 2000 holds the top two 6k times in the school’s history. She was also named to the All-South regional team in 2005 and 2006.
