Fresh off its Crimson Classic Championship two weekends ago, the University of Alabama men’s cross country team heads north to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational.
The Tide will look to make it three championships in a row to start the season having won the Brooks Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic on the first weekend followed by the Crimson Classic.
Coach Joe Walker is looking forward to the challenge as the Notre Dame meet is annually one of the top meets in the country.
“The meet will be an outstanding early season test for us,” Walker said. “There are 10 teams competing who are ranked nationally or are receiving votes; including number one ranked Wisconsin. We will definitely know where we stand on the national scene coming out of this weekend. I truly feel the guys are ready for a good effort and are excited about the task ahead.”
The meet is scheduled to begin on Friday at 5:00 p.m. CST.
