
Kretschman Named to Pan American Team and National Training Team

Former University of Alabama standout softball player Kelly Kretschman has been named to the 2005 Women’s Pan American Qualifier National team as well as the 2006 National Training team.
The Pan American Qualifier team will compete November 26-December 5 in Guatemala City, Guatemala, at the qualifier tournament for the 2006 World Championships in Beijing, China and the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. The 2006 National Training team will train together during selected weeks from January- May of 2006.
A four-time All-American while at Alabama, Kretschman has her name written all over the Crimson Tide and SEC softball record books. She helped lead the Crimson Tide to their first ever appearance at the Women’s College World Series in the 2000 season.
Kretschman also became the first softball player from the SEC to make the Olympic team.
