Tide Men's Cross Country Dominates in Season Opener

The University of Alabama men’s cross country team, led by a trio of freshmen, was dominant in its season opener this weekend taking first place at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic.
Freshman Augustus Maiyo led the Tide with a second place finish, finishing the four mile course in a time of 19:09.57. Freshman Abraham Kutingala claimed fourth with a time of 19:35.75 and freshman Titus Koeh rounded out the top five with a fifth place finish in a time of 19:43.64.
Junior Alex Korir finished seventh (19:59.45) and senior Peter Etoot, the lone senior on the team, claimed ninth (20:27.29.
The Tide will be in action again this weekend when the team hosts the Crimson Classic on Saturday, September 17 at the Harry Pritchett Cross Country Course.
