Former Tide Pitcher Named Assistant Coach at TAMU-CC

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi head softball coach Dawn Wuthrich announced the hiring of former Alabama stand-out Erin Wright to serve as assistant softball coach.
Wright helped lead the Crimson Tide to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances in 2003 and 2004 as well as a berth to the College World Series in 2003.
As a junior, she tallied a 21-5 record with 169 strikeouts in 179 innings pitched. She appeared in 41 games in leading her team to a 49-21 overall record and the SEC Tournament title. As a senior, she compiled a 15-8 record with a 2.53 earned run average with 158 strikeouts in 144 innings pitched as the Crimson Tide finished with a 45-20 record.
While with the Crimson Tide, she was named the SEC Player of the Week several times and was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament team in 2003.
After graduating from Alabama, she served as the head softball coach for one year at Paul W. Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa. She has also coached numerous club teams from 2002 to 2004 as well serving as a camp instructor during that same time.
Wright was also a member of the Long Island Angels of the Women’s Class A team in 2002, as well as the Carbondale Cougars as part of the Women’s Major Team.
