Todd In 3rd after Two Rounds at Alabama State Amateur

TUSCALOOSA – Gator Todd, a freshman on the University of Alabama golf team this past season, is at five under par in third place, a stroke behind co-leaders Will Swift and Justin Roberts, after two rounds of the Alabama State Amateur.
Friday was cut day in the 89th annual event which is being played this year at Limestone Springs in Oneonta. Todd was the only one of Alabama’s four current golfers to make the 36-hole cut. He shot 70 on Thursday and 67, four under par, on Friday to advance. Swift and Roberts are at six under par, 136.
Among the top 15 after two rounds is former Tide golfer, Sam Farlow. Farlow, who has won the state am previously, shot 71-73/144 and is among a tie at 14th at two over par. Ben Moody, son of former Tide women’s basketball coach Rick Moody, made the cut and is T-32 (70-78/148) at seven over par.
Not making the cut were Tide golfers Lance Walker (80-74/154), Stewart Whitt (79-75/154) and Joseph Sykora (77-81/158). Making the cut, with 36-hole scores of 152 or lower, were 73 golfers.
The tournament continues through Sunday.
