Tide Thrower Beth Mallory Ranked No. 1 Nationally

Things just keep getting better for Alabama track and field junior Beth Mallory.
Not even a week after winning two Southeastern Conference titles and the Commissioner's Trophy as the high point scorer at the SEC Championships, Mallory jumped to No. 1 in the nation in the discus according to the Trackwire rankings. The Ashland, Ohio native is No. 6 in the hammer throw and No. 9 in the shot put. Mallory won the discus and shot put at the league championship and was third in the hammer.
Junior Aymara Albury is ranked 11th in the shot put. Junior Beau Walker is fifth in the 400m hurdles and seventh in the 100m hurdles while junior Tahesia Harrigan is 10th in the 100m dash. The Tide's 4x100m relay is currently ranked ninth.
As a team Alabama is up to 11th in the latest Trackwire ranking after spending last week at No. 12. Texas stands atop this week's rankings, followed by South Carolina and UCLA.
Alabama is set to compete at the NCAA Regional Championships May 27-28.
