Alabama Sends Three Divers to US Open

Alabama had three divers qualify for the United States Open at the recent U.S. Open Qualifier in the Midlands, Texas, site of the U.S. Open.
Junior Aaron Ashworth won the 3-meter springboard event with a 358.41 while senior Stewart Smith was seventh with 310.44. The top-17 finishers advance to the Open. Ashworth was fifth off the platform with 314.25, also qualifying to move on.
Sophomore Alan Harris was 24th off the three-meter, with 243.21 points.
Ashworth and Smith combined to take second in the three-meter synchro event, scoring 253.23 points.
On the women's side, junior Crystal Rasmussen was fourth off the three-meter board with 246.42 points. She will join Ashworth and Smith to move on.
