Alabama Divers Hit the Finals at the U.S. Open

Three Alabama divers finaled at the United States Open in the Midlands, Texas.
Senior Stewart Smith grabbed sixth place off the three-meter board, scoring 934.23 points. Junior Aaron Ashworth was eighth off the three-meter, posting 855.30 points. Ashworth also finaled off the platform, scoring 718.02 points, good for eighth place.
Smith and Ashworth combined to take fourth in the three-meter synchro diving event, scoring 250.14 points.
At the recent NCAA Championships, Smith earned All-American honors on the one and three-meter boards as well as the platform while Ashworth earned All-America off the one-meter and platform.
Junior Crystal Rasmussen took seventh off the three-meter board, scoring 650.19 points.
Rasmussen earned All-American honors on the one-meter board at the women's NCAA Championships.
