Clint Provost has had a stellar career at the Capstone as a leading member of the University of Alabama golf team. As a freshman four years ago, he showed fans they would have much to look forward to. That year, he was named All-Southeast Region and 2nd Team All-Southeastern Conference. During the next two years, Clint was named to the Academic All-SEC team twice and also finished 8th at the SEC Championships in 2003 and 2004. Last season, Clint played in all 12 of the Tide’s tournaments and finished in the top 25 of six of them. The lone senior on the Tide’s roster this season, he has had top 10 finishes in three of the eight tournaments the Tide has played in and has a 72.79 stroke average. In the following interview, Clint tells of his plans after graduation, his memories of the Capstone, and which reality show he’d love to be on.
You’re a senior this year. What are you plans after graduation?
“I’m not graduating until December. I’m going to stick around and be player assistant. Then I’ll probably move back to Pensacola and play professional golf and work.”
When you have some down time where can we find you?
“Usually hunting or fishing. You can usually find me somewhere outdoors.”
Who’s your favorite athlete that isn’t a golfer?
“Probably Lance Armstrong. I really like what he’s done.”
Which MTV reality show would you most like to be on, Pimp My Ride, Punk’d or The Real World?
“I would like to be on Punk’d. I’d like to do the punking and get a celebrity. No one specific.”
What has been your most memorable experience at the Capstone?
“My most memorable experiences are when my team is winning. Like last weekend when we won our home meet (The Conrad Rehling Invitational). That was a good time.”
