Women's Golf Set to Compete at Lady Gamecock Classic

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of Alabama women's golf team continues its spring season schedule this weekend when the Crimson Tide opens play at the Lady Gamecock Classic starting on Friday.
The Tide is making its seventh consecutive appearance at the Lady Gamecock, an event hosted by the University of South Carolina at the par 72, 5,996-yard University Club. Alabama finished eighth at last year's competition.
Seniors Megan George and Darby Sligh head the list of Alabama's travel squad for the Lady Gamecock. Joining the UA duo will be juniors Carina Sorensen and Audrey Gale and sophomore Amy Middleton.
Other teams competing in this weekend's event include Augusta State, East Tennessee State, Florida State, Furman, LSU, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina and Virginia.
Tournament action begins at 8:10 a.m. (ET) on Friday from both the first and 10th tees. The teams will play 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring of the event is available on the internet at www.golfstat.com.
