TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama women's basketball team concludes a three-game home stand on Sunday with a pivotal Southeastern Conference game against Florida at 2 p.m.
The Crimson Tide, 12-8 overall and 3-4 in SEC play, look to get back on the winning track following a disappointing 72-63 loss to No. 18 Georgia on Thursday night. The defeat snapped a three-game home win streak for the Tide, who have posted an impressive 8-2 mark in Coleman Coliseum this year.
Florida (12-9, 3-5 SEC) is also hoping to get things turned around heading into the final month of conference play. The Gators, who won 11 of 13 games during a stretch earlier this season, have fallen on tough times losing five of their last six games including a current four-game losing skid.
Alabama leads in the all-time series with Florida, 24-14, but Florida has enjoyed some recent success winning four the last five meetings. The Crimson Tide handed UF a 69-65 loss in their last meeting in Tuscaloosa on Feb. 16, 2003. Florida posted a 76-69 win over Bama last season in Gainesville, Fla.
COX Sports will be televising the game live with Mick Hubert (play-by-play) and Mark Wise (color analyst) handling the broadcast duties. The Alabama Cable Network (CAN) will be carrying the feed of the game.
Sports Radio 1420 AM "The Tusk" along with New Rock 90.7 FM will carry the Bama-Gator game live on the radio and also over the internet at www.rolltide.com. Real time live statistics are also available at the Alabama athletic website: www.rolltide.com
Following Sunday's tilt with Florida, the Crimson Tide packs its bags for a two-week stretch that has Bama playing four of its next five games on the road beginning on Thursday night at Arkansas.
