Women's Track and Field Posts Wins at LSU Twilight

In its final tune-up before the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, the Alabama women's track and field team posted several wins and season best marks at the LSU Twilight held in Baton Rouge Friday.
Junior Beth Mallory posted a double win, taking first in the weight throw with a 63 feet, 9.5 inch effort and the shot put, where she threw for 47-11.75. Senior Chafree Bain was third in the weight and fourth in the shot put with throws of 55-06.50 and 43-05.75 respectively while freshman Lorna Finn was fourth in the weight at 50-06.25.
Junior LaTasha Pharr won the triple jump with a season best leap of 43-01. Junior Kou Luogon was fifth with a 38-04.25 triple jump effort. Pharr tied her season best 60m hurdle time of 8.53 on her way to taking third place.
Junior Tahesia Harrigan won the 60-meter dash with a 7.43 while junior Majik Reed was sixth with a 7.70. Harrigan was fourth in the long jump, posting a leap of 19-04. Reed was third in the 200m dash with a 25.83. In the 400m dash, junior Kou Luogon was second with a 56.91 and senior Christy Fairley was eighth at 58.65.
Alabama starts competition at the SEC Indoor Championships in Fayetteville this Friday.
