No. 33 Alabama (2-1) will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. on Saturday to take on No. 42 Florida State (0-1).
This is the fifth consecutive season that the two teams have met. Alabama has won four in a row in the series and three of the last four decisions have been by one point.
Alabama’s Robin Stephenson and Ashley Bentley will look to continue their success. Neither has lost in dual match competition so far this spring while playing at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions respectively.
In doubles, they currently sit just three victories away from becoming the school’s all-time winningest doubles team. With a victory Saturday they can move one win closer to accomplishing that milestone.
The Seminoles have just one player on its squad ranked by the ITA. Mihaela Moldovan is ranked No. 42 in the nation and is 9-6 on the season. She will most likely square off against Alabama’s Stephenson.
Alabama and Florida State were both present at this year’s ITA South Regional held in Tuscaloosa, however they only met up once on the court. Alabama’s Melissa Day and Mari Muller, ranked 50th, defeated FSU’s Moldovan and Miranda Foley, 8-6.
