GAME NOTES
TUSCALOOSA - The Crimson Tide women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the newly-rededicated Coleman Coliseum looking to rebound from a disappointing non-conference loss at UAB on Tuesday night. Alabama (3-3) will host Southeast Louisiana (1-3) on Saturday, Dec. 10, in a 2 p.m. tilt.
The game will be televised live by WVUA, local Channel 3 in Tuscaloosa. The game will also be replayed on the station on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. The Crimson Tide Sports Network will broadcast the game on the radio, with David Crane providing commentary.
In the last outing, UAB rode a hot shooting performance in the first half to victory over the Tide. The Blazers shot 61.5 percent from the floor in the opening stanza, the highest single-half total for a Tide opponent this season, helping them build a 12-point lead at the break. Alabama fought hard in the second half and pulled within six on three occasions, but UAB responded each time the Tide threatened to hold on for a 70-62 victory.
Southeast Louisiana enters the contest looking to end a two-game losing streak of its own. The Lions have dropped consecutive losses to Texas Southern and Jackson State. Head coach Lori Davis Jones is in her fourth season with the Lions and owns a 30-55 record at the school.
The two teams will meet for the fourth time in series history, with Southeast Louisiana holding a 2-1 edge in the series. Alabama won the last outing, in 1991, the only game of the series to have been played in Tuscaloosa.
All military members, active or retired, will be admitted free to Saturday's game with the presentation of a military ID. In addition, any fan bringing a toy for donation to the "Toys for Tots" program will also receive free admission to the contest. Members of the Boy Scouts will assist in receiving and collecting any donated toys. All fans with toys to donate should enter through the main entrance at Coleman Coliseum.
Alabama will be off next week for finals and will return to the road for a trip to South Dakota State on Sunday, Dec. 18.
