The Alabama men’s tennis team will send three players to the UNLV Fall Classic this weekend to close out fall competition.
Dan Buikema, Sammy Struyf and Andrew Felsenthal will all make the trip to Las Vegas to participate in the three-day event. In addition to Alabama and host UNLV, competitors from Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Fresno State and East Tennessee State will also participate.
“This is a great chance for us to meet some different competition,” Alabama head coach Billy Pate said. “We hope to have success and end the fall on a positive note as we prepare for the spring dual-match season.”
Buikema, Struyf and Felsenthal all enter this weekend with .500 records on the season. Buikema and Struyf will also team up and play as partners in doubles.
The tournament will feature two 16-player singles flights and one 16-team doubles draw. Six nationally ranked singles players are expected to compete over the weekend. Play will begin Friday at 9 a.m. PT.
