The University of Alabama men’s cross country team, fresh off a two-week rest, travels to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the prestigious Chile Pepper Festival this weekend.
The Tide has posted two meet victories this season and finished seventh at its most recent meet, the nationally renowned Notre Dame Invite.
Alabama has been led this season by a trio of freshmen. Augustus Maiyo has been the Tide’s top finisher in all three races, including a meet championship at the Crimson Classic. Fellow freshmen Titus Koeh and Abraham Kutingala have been the next two finishers in all three races.
In addition to host school and top-ranked Arkansas, two other nationally ranked programs will be making the trip to Fayetteville, including Arizona (No. 6), Texas-El Paso (No. 11). Alabama is currently receiving votes and would check in at No. 31 in the nation.
The 10k race is scheduled to get underway on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
