Alabama Swimming and Diving Announce Captains

The Alabama Swimming and Diving teams announced its captains for the 2004-05 season today.
Juniors Spiros Bitsakis and JT Jones will captain the men's team while senior Sonya Adams and junior Kathryn Hallquist will captain the women. Junior Aaron Ashworth will serve as the captain for the divers.
"I know that this group of student-athletes will give this team great leadership in the year to come," head coach Eric McIlquham said. "They are all hard working and well respected by their teammates."
The team named the late Bernie Romero, who died Sept. 15 from complication arising from leukemia, as an honorary captain for the men's team.
"This is something the team felt strongly about," McIlquham said. "They wanted to honor Bernie's life and the way he lived it."
Alabama will swim an Intrasquad Meet Oct. 15 at the Alabama Aquatic Center and its first meet of the season will Oct. 29 at LSU.
