Tuscaloosa, AL -- The student radio station, WVUA-FM 90.7, at the Capstone will continue coverage of Alabama women's soccer for the 2004 season.
Last season the station broadcast five of the matches, including the intense meeting between Alabama and Auburn. This year, WVUA plans on broadcasting at least five games once again, with the possibility of a sixth or seventh game being added to the schedule. The five definite games are: Chattanooga (Sept. 12th), Jacksonville St. (Sept. 19th), South Carolina (Sept. 26th), Mississippi St. (Oct. 10th), and Mississippi Valley St. (Oct. 31st).
New sports director, Chad Anderson, will be calling all the action.
"I'm very excited once again to have Alabama soccer on the air waves," Anderson said. "It's fun, exciting, and working with Coach Staley is always a treat. We look forward to bringing fans and parents more exciting coverage."
Alabama Soccer is one of four sports at the university that WVUA exclusively covers. Head Coach, Don Staley, enjoys the broadcasts each and every year.
"WVUA's coverage of Alabama soccer puts us in an elite group of universities and once again shows why Alabama is one of the top communication schools in the country," Staley said. "The radio coverage gives our players' parents an opportunity to keep up with their daughters unlike most other programs in the country."
Fans in Tuscaloosa can listen to the games on 90.7 FM, while listeners outside of the coverage area can tune in online at www.rolltide.com.
