TUSCALOOSA, ALA - LSU advanced to its sixth consecutive Southeastern Conference Softball Championship Game on the strength of a 1-0 victory over Auburn this morning at the Alabama Softball Complex.
LSU will play Georgia for the title at 1 p.m. The title game marks the second time the Tigers and Dogs have played for SEC tournament title, LSU came out on top in 2002 by a score of 1-0.
Kristin Schmidt picked up the win, going to 31-5 on the season. Beth DiPietro took the loss, dropping to 6-3 on the year.
Over the last six games of the tournament, five have been decided by two runs or less, with four being decided by one run.
