The sixth-ranked University of Alabama softball team (25-3, 6-0) will look to keep their record in the SEC spotless this weekend as they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take on the Kentucky Wildcats (13-13-1, 2-10) in a three-game series.
Over the years, Alabama has had Kentucky's number running up an all-time record of 17-0 against the Wildcats. In their most recent outing Alabama swept Kentucky in the 2003 series in Tuscaloosa squeaking by 2-1 in Game 2 of the series. Overall, the two teams have played two one-run games and have never met in post season play.
The Crimson Tide comes into the weekend on a 16-game winning streak, the second longest in program history including two series sweeps of the Arkansas Lady Razorbacks and then #13 ranked Tennessee.
Kentucky is coming in off a series in Athens, Georgia where they were swept by the seventh-ranked Bulldogs.
The series will get underway with a doubleheader on Saturday, with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (ET). The series will wrap-up on Sunday with a single game. The Sunday game will be the fifth game the two teams have played on a March 21 date in the series.
