TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama men’s tennis team (3-2, 0-0 SEC) faces Middle Tennessee in Tuscaloosa’s Hank Crisp Indoor Facility Wednesday in the final pre-conference match of the year for the 28th-ranked Crimson Tide at 3 p.m.
Middle Tennessee enters the match 4-4 and is ranked 59th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Blue Raiders enter the match with back-to-back wins over Memphis (No. 72, ITA) and Purdue (No. 55, ITA)
“Middle Tennessee has a talented team,” Alabama head coach Billy Pate said. “They gave us a tough match last year, and this year will be no different. I think if our team comes out with a proper mindset and plays up to their capabilities we will be successful.”
Wednesday’s match will be Alabama’s last at home until March 26. The Crimson Tide will play at least seven straight matches away from Tuscaloosa from Feb. 25 thru March 26, and if the Tide is able to reach the finals of the Blue-Gray Classic in Montgomery, the string will extend to eight. ‘Bama benefits from the early road matches, however, hosting eight straight matches at home in March and April.
