"We grouped together well and we try to emphasize that," said Alabama head coach Steve Keith. "Now we just have to work on placing ourselves better in the first mile of the race. We finished about where I expected."

The Tennessee women won the team championship by two points over Southeastern Conference foe Georgia, 78-80. Both Tennessee and Georgia will advance to the NCAA Championships.
