Bama Competes at Day Three of Wilson/ITA South Regionals

Alabama’s Robin Stephenson came within one victory of securing a berth to the ITA National Indoor Championships but fell just short, losing to Georgia’s Shadisha Robinson, the No. 3 seed, in the semifinals of the Wilson/ITA South Regional.
Stephenson opened up the third day of competition with a win the quarterfinals over Georgia Tech Kristi Miller. Stephenson fought back after dropping the opening set in a tie-breaker to win the final two sets 6-2, 6-2.
Sonja Nikolic played in the semifinals of the consolations B draw against UAB’s Nischa Maier-Knapp. Nikolic took Maier-Knapp to the limit, but Maier-Knapp pulled it out in a three-set tie-breaker, 6-3, 6-7 (10-6).
