"I thought we made a step this week," said Alabama head coach Jay Seawell. "We were a little disapointed that we didn't do better today, but we got a chance see how we can play at that level, and I think we showed ourselves that we could play at that level. It's a mixed bag in that our guys hung with them but then today we didn't make the putts they needed to make. But that's something we will work on to improve.
"I'm happy with the team effort and I'm certainly pleased with Mark Harrell's play this week. For a true freshman in only his third tournament of his college career to finish third in arguable the toughest field in the country is a great achievement. When you combine that third place finish with Lars Brovold's second place finish last year, I think it's a step taken that shows Alabama is starting to do more than host the Jerry Pate, it's contending."
Alabama returns to play again October 18-19th at the University of Tennessee's Tournament of Champions in Knoxville.
