Felsenthal Wins Twice at ITA Southeast Regional Championships

Alabama’s Andrew Felsenthal won twice Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the qualifying rounds at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Memphis, Tenn.
Felsenthal defeated Troy’s Robert Van Swelm, 6-4, 6-1 in the Round of 16 to make the quarterfinals. In the opening round he fought back after dropping the first set to defeat Southeast Louisiana’s Oliver Nussbaum, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Over the weekend, Felsenthal advanced all the way to the semifinals at the Georgia Tech Invitational before being defeated.
The Tide’s Jordie Kindervater and Taylor Striplin each played on Thursday as well. Kindervater fell to Marten Tamla of Memphis while Striplin fell to Tennessee Tech’s Michele Panzeri.
