Alabama's Bassham Closes Out Regular Season Undefeated

Alabama diver Lane Bassham finished out her senior season with a perfect dual meet record after picking up a pair of wins at South Carolina Friday (Jan. 30).
Bassham won both the one-meter board (286.65) and the three-meter board (326.18) against the Gamecocks, to push her season mark to 18-0 on the season. Alabama ended up losing the men and women's meet by a matching score of 127-115. The Tide men finish the regular season at 6-4 while the women were 5-5.
Alabama's men won the opening 400 medley relay with a 3:26.57 behind junior Franck Southon, senior Ben Worby, sophomore Matt Schmidt and senior James Willcox.
Sophomore Chris Flamion won the 1650 freestyle with a 15:43.49 while sophomore Darren Erasmus won the 50 with a 21.06. Erasmus also won the 100 freestyle, touching at 45.73. Sophomore J.T. Jones won the 200 butterfly with a 1:52.76. Southon won the 200 back with a 1:50.38.
On the women's side of the slate, freshman Nichole Weatherman won the mile with a 17:04.66 and the 500 freestyle with a 4:59.64. Sophomore Anna Grant took the 200 IM with a 2:08.27 while freshman Bridgett Belyea posted a 2:06.43 to win the 200 butterfly.
With the regular season behind them, Alabama kicks off the post season with the Southeastern Conference Championships in Athens, Ga. February 25-29.
