Rosenstiel Joins Alabama Women's Golf Staff

TUSCALOOSA – University of Alabama women’s golf coach Betty Palmer announced the addition of assistant coach Susan Rosenstiel to her squad’s coaching staff for this season.
A former collegiate golfer at Tennessee and Florida, joins the Tide following a year of working outside the golfing field. Rosenstiel brings a variety of golf experience to the program, having worked as an assistant golf professional and golf instructor for several years prior to her stint in private business.
“I am excited to have Susan joining my staff,” said Palmer, in her 15th season at the helm of the Alabama women’s golf program. “She was an excellent collegiate player and also has a strong background in teaching. She is going to be a wonderful addition to this program.”
Rosenstiel, formerly Susan Conger, began her collegiate playing career at the University of Tennessee playing two seasons (1992-94) for the Lady Vols. She then transferred to the University of Florida where she finished her playing career with two seasons (1994-97) as a Lady Gator. During her stay at UF, Rosenstiel garnered Academic All-American and Academic All-SEC accolades. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food and Resource Economics from Florida in 1996 and received her master’s in Exercise and Sports Sciences, Sports Management in 1999.
While working on her master’s Rosenstiel spent time working for UF’s College of Health and Human Performance as a golf and weight instructor and also worked as an assistant to Florida’s Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women’s Administrator. After her graduation, she worked as an assistant golf pro at the Tradition Golf Club in Royal Palm Beach, Fla., as well as at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen, Ala.
Rosenstiel is currently assisting Palmer in getting the Crimson Tide ready for the start of the spring golf season. Alabama opens up the 2004 portion of its schedule on Feb. 9-10 at the Tulane Invitational in New Orleans, La. (English Turn Golf Course).
