The University of Alabama men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Miami Invitational Sunday, finishing the tournament with eight wins in ten matches among its three competing singles participants.
True freshman Joseph Jung (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) started his collegiate career off undefeated with three singles win at the event, while fellow freshman Mike Green (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) sports a 3-1 singles record after the event. Senior Chris Gostek (Toronto, Canada) was 2-1.
"I think it was a positive result for us on the singles end," Alabama head coach Billy Pate said. "We've got a lot of work to do in doubles, but to be fair, we haven't had a chance to work on that much to this point."
"I was impressed with Green's ability and impressed with Jung's consistency and maturity. There's still a lot of areas where they have to improve, but the sky is the limit for them."
The Tide's next action comes at the UVA Fall Invitational in Charlottesville, Va. on Sept. 26-28. Complete results from Sunday follow:
