The NFCA has announced that the University of Alabama has been chosen as one of 12 sites for the National Fastpitch Coaches' College with the Tuscaloosa course taking place October 31-November 2.
"The course will be an intensive coaching clinic for all involved but it will be a great opportunity for all the local and regional coaches to get an in-depth look at strategies behind high scoring offenses," said Alabama Head Coach Patrick Murphy.
Participants enrolled in "Course 405 - Teaching a Run-Producing Team Offense and Strategy", will learn how to determine the appropriate strategy in a given situation and how to teach their players to become a part of an offensive team.
In addition, the course will cover coaching bases, game-day hitting, elements of a game plan and many other aspects of a run-producing team offense.
Instructors will include Murphy and DePaul Blue Demons head coach Eugene Lenti, among others. Murphy has led the Tide to two Women's College World Series Appearances in four years while Lenti led his team to two consecutive WCWS appearances in 1999 and 2000.
The cost of the three-day course, which will be held at Austin Hall on campus at the University of Alabama, is $225 for NFCA members and $250 for non-NFCA members.

In addition, Texas Woman's University has partnered with the NFCA to give coaches involved with the NFCC an opportunity to earn their Master's of Science Degree. Coaches can earn class credit towards a Master's Degree in Kinesiology with an Emphasis in Coaching through Texas Woman's University.
