Alabama Men's Tennis Prepares for Big Road Trip

** When the Tide meets the Dores on Sunday it will mark the eighth time this season Alabama has faced a top-25 opponent. Alabama is 4-2 in top-25 matches so far, with the losses against No. 2 Florida and No. 8 Ole Miss...
** The latest Omni Hotels Intercollegiate Tennis Rankings have Alabama at No. 14. The Tide has been ranked in the top 20 all season long, with it's highest ranking coming on Feb. 26 (No. 11) and lowest on March 12 (No. 19)
** In this week's team rankings 16 of the Tide's 24 opponents this season are ranked in the top 50. Nine are in the top 20 and 11 are in the top 25.
** Friday's opponent Kentucky features the nation's 13th-ranked singles player, jesse Witten, while Vanderbilt has two singles players ranked in the top 10 - No. 2 Bobby Reynolds and No. 10 Chad Harris. Alabama's highest ranked singles player is Max Belski at No. 75. Junior Chris Gostek is ranked 91st.
** Tide junior Chris Gostek looks to continue his good play in the coming weekend of SEC action after an outstanding performance last week. At one point during his two convincing singles wins he won 19 straight games. On Friday, his match was tied 3-3 in the first set before he won nine straight games to put away the match. Then on Sunday, "Goose" began his singles match with nine more consecutive games won, going up 6-0, 3-0 before eventually winning the match 6-0, 7-5.
** Gostek is now 15-4 in singles and 11-7 in doubles. He is tied for the team-lead in doubles wins (with partner William Boyles), and is second on the team in singles wins. He leads the team in combined wins with 26. Fellow Tide junior Christian Brodersen leads the squad in singles wins with a 16-4 mark.
