Southern Illinois Opens Bama Bash! With A Shutout

Behind the arm of Amy Harre, Southern Illinois (5-0) shut out Western Kentucky (0-1) 7-0 in game one of the 2003 Bama Bash!.

Harre improved to 3-0 on the season with the one hit shutout of the Hilltoppers. All three of Harre's starts this season have been shutouts.

Southern Illinois was led offensively by Jenny Doehring, who was 3-3 at the plate and had a sacrifice fly. Katie Jordan added a two-run home run for the Salukis.

Allison Silver took the loss for the Hilltoppers in their season opener.

Southern Illinois plays in game two of the Bama against Winthrop. Western Kentucky will face Alabama in the final game of the night at approximately 6:30
