
Tide Women's Basketball Welcomes UT-San Antonio

TUSCALOOSA - The University of Alabama women's basketball team continues its four game home stand on Friday night when the Tide hosts UT-San Antonio at 7 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum.
Alabama enters the match-up with a 3-1 overall record and riding a two-game win streak. The Crimson Tide extended their non-SEC home win streak to 52 games with an impressive 81-52 victory over Jacksonville State on Tuesday night. Against JSU, the Tide outscored the Gamecocks 35-6 over the final 12 minutes including a 23-0 run.
UTSA comes to town with a 2-3 record and looking to bounce back from a 58-55 loss to Denver last Saturday night. The Tide defeated the Roadrunners, 61-55, last year in UTSA's Thanksgiving Classic.
Freshman Navonda Moore continues to lead the Crimson Tide in scoring at 16.5 points a game followed by junior Monique Bivins at 10.3. Sophomore Dee Merriweather is the squad's top rebounder at 8.0 per contest. Alabama's offense has been clicking of late surpassing the 80-point mark in each of the past two games.
Following the UTSA game, Alabama concludes a stretch of three games in six days with a tilt against No. 23 Virginia Tech on Sunday at 2 p.m.
